MelSolo
Gaillac, South-West, France
In 2021, Mélanie Kröber founded MelSolo in the historic vineyards of Gaillac, after a remarkable journey from East Germany to London, Australia, Vermont, the Jura, and finally, to southwest France. With no formal training, but deep curiosity and hands-on learning, she took over 2.4 hectares from the iconic Causse Marines estate, cultivating rare local grapes like Mauzac, Ondenc, Braucol, and Jurançon Noir.
Mélanie’s wines are pure, textured, and often skin-fermented, a style inspired by her love of cheese rinds and the character found in grape skins. Driven by instinct, books, and boldness, she embraces forgotten varieties and natural methods, crafting wines that are honest, expressive, and uniquely her own.
