Viticulture: Natural, Low sulfites
Tasting notes: Made from a classic trio of traditional Catalan grape varieties, Macabeo, Parellada, and Xarel-lo, this sparkling wine captures the true essence of Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, the heart of Catalonia’s sparkling wine heritage. Each grape plays a distinct role: Macabeo lends brightness, Parellada brings finesse, and Xarel-lo adds depth and structure. Together, they create a balanced blend known locally as "La Tríada." Perfect for both festive occasions and everyday enjoyment, this wine offers an authentic taste of Catalonia’s rich winemaking tradition.
About the producer: Cal Xurriu, founded in 2018 by Paula Sandoval (chef patron at Jazminos in Bilbao) and Agustí Costa, is nestled in the hills of Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, near Barcelona. They focus on small, wild parcels in Alt Penedès. With deep respect for nature, vines grow freely among herbs and wildlife. Paula crafts delicate, soulful wines that reflect the land’s quiet beauty and the whisper of wind through century-old vines.
